I. Pray for World
Peace in New Millennium
|

In 2000,people around the world
were all excited because
|
| they were
luckyenough to see with their own eyes coming if the new millennium
and the new century. In southern coast kf China, a middle-aged person,
named Luo Zhongyao, wrung his wrists in deep sorrow for the displaced
refugees with their families broken as shown on TV. Yes, the new
century is waving to the mankind, while the smokes of war and unshakable
hazes are still pervading in the sky. Many people seem to turn a
blind eye to those heart-stricken women in ragged clothes and bony
children with dull eyes. Although such things happen every day,
they are far, far away from us. |

The UN defined Year 2000 as "International
peace and Culture
|
| Year".
At thevery moment of thinking of this, Luo Zhongyao, member of Chinese
Academy of Prose Poem and member Shenzhen Writers Association got
an idea all of a sudden-write a poem, the method easy to arouse
people's common feelings, to give out the call for mankind peace
and friendship in the new millennium and in the new century. |

Throughout the whole afternoon,
Luo Zhongyao closed himself

| in the study.At
supper time, lines of passionate words came into being: |

"Morning
sun is rising up over the horizon slowly,
Eventful history becomes the past.
Civilization kindling lights the sky and the earth,
We make our farewells to yesterday, to the past……" |
| When Old
Luo read the lyric of Praying slowly to his families, his wife could
not help nodding in agreement. His daughter listened carefully,
with her hands supporting her cheeks, and suggested to her father
all of a sudden to add to the lyric with "Candle light spreads
in companion with blessing", because Mr.Annen, Secretary General
of the UN once made a famous proposal:the whole world should light
candles for one minute to bless peace of mankind at 23:59 on Dec.31,
1999.China followed the proposal. And Luo Zhongyao's family also
lighted a candle to bless peace at that night. |
| The three-person
family chatted while eating. And by the time when the supper was
over,the lyric jointly written by the father and daughter was completed
with the milk of human kindness. |
On the night
of Dec.31,2000, Luo Yi, the lyric writer of the song Praying, and
Gu Lang, singer of the child's voice melody of the song, came to
Shenzhen Postal Service Building and mailed out the Letter to Annen,
Secretary General of the Un, and the music sheet of the song Praying.
And that night happened to be the first anniversary of Secretary
General Annen's Proposal:"the whole world should light candles
for one minute to bless peace of mankind at 23:59 on Dec.31,1999".
In later part of February 2001,
the writer of the song Praying received a letter Secretary General
of UN Annen had Harson Fieldus, Public Consulting Director of Public
Information Department of United Nations to send, confirming the
active importance of the song Praying. And the letter also said
that the UN staff liked the song.
Not ling ago, Shenzhen Yantian District Party Committee
and the District Government, recognizing treasures with their insights,
paid close attentions to the song singing mankind peace and friendship,
and offered great support to shoot MTV for the song. The CCTV also
sent large-scale shooting team to Shenzhen. A splendid movement
was concluded at the sculpture "casting sword into plough"
in front the retired aircraft carrier Minsk at Dapengwan Shore.

II. Write Biography
for Initiative Makers around World
|

When the whole world was celebrating
the coming the third
|
| millennium,
and the 21st century, as a part-time researcher of the Tourism Planning
Center of Geographic Research Institute, CAS, Luo Zhongyao turned
to retrospect the development history of mankind after he finished
the song praying for world peace in the new millennium. He was greatly
moved when he found out that, in the long, long river of history,
the mankind constantly explored, constantly practiced, constantly
discovered, constantly matured and constantly made progresses. He
felt it a must to write down |

something
for our predecessors, particularly those having made initiatives
in the world. It was just their initiative spirits, initiative ideas,
initiative speeches, initiative actions and initiative……in all of
the unknown worlds, such as unknown fields and unknown sciences
that left behind for us countless successful, unsuccessful, "good"
and "bad" social fortunes we may inherit or selectively
develop. And it was just such fortunes that enabled us to make progress
through constant summing-up and constant improvement. And in the
future, our posterity will continue to sum up and improve on the
base of our achievements, and will enter into another millennium
with their initiative spirits and initiative actions through constant
exploration and constant practice. Then
all of a sudden, Luo Zhongyao, former member of Chongping Invention
Association, and having acquired several national patents, came
to the idea to write initiative activities of all initiative-makers
into a book, named as the Record Book of World's Initiatives, at
the rate of one volume per year, until one millennium after another.
Of course, Luo Zhongyao will follow the spirit of "Moving a
mountain by hand" writing the book one generation after another.
One celebrity once said, He who
was the first to eat a crab is a brave person. One book states:
after the person who was the first to eat tomatoes took risk of
eating several tomatoes, he lay in bed and wait for death. However,
he found out that the colorful berries were not only tasty and juicy,
but also free of poison. Later, people found out that tomatoes contain
rich nutrient contents, and multiple vitamins. Some
initiative-makers took the path his predecessors had never taken.
However, they took the initiative step in exploring the extensive
world and boundless universe. Examples included that Copernicus
developed the Sun Center Theory, Newton discovered universal gravitation
from the hint of an apple falling from a tree and Columbus discovered
the new continent on his initiative voyage……
One national leader once stated, innovation is
the soul for a nation to progress. Today, when we racily eat crabs
and racily chew tomatoes, should we not extend our gratitude to
those initiative-makers who took the initiative to eat crabs and
tomatoes first in the world? Although those predecessors did not
applied for patents, and those predecessors were not listed in the
Guinness Book of Records for eating dozens or hundreds of crabs
or tomatoes, we should record their initiative spirits and initiative
actions in the Record Book of World's Initiatives specially designed
to set up steles and compile biographies and notarize to the world
the initiative0makers throughout the world.
So, Luo Zhongyao set off to collect materials
and set up World Online Union (www.wolu.org.) to facilitate initiative-makers.
And a Initiative Bulletin Board (Channel) was specially opened.
The ambitious wish of Luo Zhognyao, who once served as Chief Editor
of a magazine, is to made the Record Book of World's Initiatives
into a chronicle that faithfully records each initiative of mankind,
and into an encyclopedia that extensively records initiatives throughout
the world. In opinion of Luo Zhongyao, all initiatives, regardless
whether they were valuable then, should be recorded faithfully for
posterity to sum up and improve them, and for posterity to appreciate,
to select, to inherit and to discard them. Today, in the development
of human civilization, as for initiatives in the world, applications
can be made to patent department for invention patents, practical
new-type patents and appearance patents for the inventions in natural
science. While applying for patents, the applicant may apply to
the editing committee of the Record Book of World's Initiatives
for entry into the Book. In this way, initiative-makers may be listed
in the Record Book of World's Initiatives while obtaining the patents.
The benefit incurred therefrom is although the patent will fail
to get legal protection after several or more than ten years, the
historical fact the Record Book of World's Initiatives presents
to the world will offer to initiative-makers invaluable intangible
assets and benefits. In the field of social science, although many
of world's initiative ideas, behaviors, explorations and practices
of all categories may not apply for patents, applications can be
made for entry of them into the Record Book of World's Initiatives.
The reason is that initiatives in this field are also social fortunes
that mankind should recognize, record, inherit and selectively discard.
As for certain "World's No. 1" cases (Note: many of "World's
No. 1" cases are not necessarily world's initiatives.) may
apply for entry into the Guinness Book of Records. If such "World's
No. 1"cases are of the nature of world's initiative, they can
also apply for entry into the Record Book of World's Initiatives
and receive dual recognition and honors.
To sum up, as to whether a case could be applied
for entry into the Record Book of World's Initiatives, the key is
to see whether it belong to world's initiative. That is, all the
cases of the nature of "world's first", whether they were
good or bad, beautiful or ridiculous, eccentric or unforgettable,
orthodox or unorthodox at the time they occurred……all the world's
initiatives, including all kinds of ideas, behaviors, explorations
and practices, will show their values gradually with development
of mankind's knowledge. And the Record Book of World's Initiatives
should become a presentation stage and a forum for displaying mankind's
history in understanding different characteristic of all novelties
in the universe and objective laws.
